Extract Leaves of Hibiscus Rosa-sinensis as Corrosion Inhibitor for Pure Al in Seawater

Abstract

Extraction of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis leaves was done to investigate it as inhibitor for pure Al in seawater at four temperatures (303.15, 313.15, 323.15 and 333.15 K) using electrochemical method by Potentiostat. The results indicated that this extract gave very good efficiencies under experimental conditions.FTIR spectroscopy showed that the adsorption of the extract was done by sulfonyl (S?O) and carbonyl groups (C?O) and the adsorption was obeying Langmuir isotherm.Surface analysis via SEM techniques indicates that the particles are active Of the botanical extract, Hibiscus rosa-sinensis leaves, completely delay pitting corrosion on sample surfaces
