Abstract

MgyZn1-yO (y = 0.20) thin films were deposited at various deposition temperature (room
temperature, 200°C, 400°C and 600°C) on glass substrate using pulsed laser deposition. These films
were investigated for ultraviolet photodetector applications. The crystallinity, morphology and UV
analysis were studied by X-ray diffraction, Scanning electron microscopy and UV Spectroscopy
respectively. The current voltage characteristics of these deposited films were studied for various
ultraviolet sources like short range (254nm wavelength) and long range (365nm wavelength). From the
results, it is observed that, the film deposited at room temperature performs better than other deposited
films for UV sensors. Key words: MgZnO thin films, Pulsed laser deposition, UV photo detector, I-V
