Analysis of Performance Management Measurement Using the Balanced Scorecard Method at Private University in Serang City

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance management of the Nusantara Technology University (UTN) in Serang City using the Balanced Scorecard method. The population in this study were all elements of university leadership, lecturers, students and other parties related to academic activities at UTN Kota Serang totaling 716 people. Based on these considerations, the samples taken in this study were 255 respondents. The research results prove that the performance indicator strategy mapping at UTN Serang City is based on the Balanced Scorecard perspective (financial, customer, internal business processes, and growth and learning) affect academic performance which subsequently becomes the basis for the achievement of the vision and mission of UTN Kota Serang. The results also showed that p erspektif customer is the greatest in the perspective of its contribution to the academic performance UTN Serang, and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) that determines academic performance is the quality assurance on the customer's perspective. UTN City's academic performance is in good category. This is also shown from the overall results of the key indicators in the four Balanced Scorecard perspectives that show good results, exceeding the targets set by the institution (UTN Kota Serang). The selection of perspective and KPI that need to be prioritized is the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This research is able to contribute by producing novelty research in the form of performance measurement using the Balanced Scorecard. Performance measurement on the four Balanced Scorecard perspectives needs to be sharpened and deepened, for example in the customer aspect it can be done to the community, business/industry, and alumni. Also in the aspect of internal business processes, deepening is needed to improve the quality of higher education.
