Cutaneous Leishmaniasis: Diagnosis And Treatment
Abstract
The study of 120 patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis showed that acute necrolizing form was diagnosed in 61.7%, late exulcerating form – in 30.8% and separately identified metaleishmaniosis in 7.5%. The complex therapy for patients with cutaneous leishmaniasis included 1% ointment for external use containing gossypol leading to marked antileishmicidal effect.
