Abstract

This is an unprecedented time of which will have a very significant impact on the way organizations operate for years to come. Covid-19 pandemic has caused havoc to the world not only in the health aspect but the way we live, work and learn. Organizations are faced with a steep challenge to stay afloat and they are trying to come up with innovative solutions to survive. Public health organizations are no stranger to this situation as they represent the first line of defence against the deadly public health crisis. In the United Arab Emirates, the government is determined to enhance public health institutions from all aspects including organizational ones in terms of excellence and innovation. This conceptual study will lean on the literature to identify suitable factors that may influence organizational excellence in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic and its strict measures of lockdowns. This proposed model includes human capital, strategic planning, and online engagement as independent variables, innovativeness as a moderating variable, and organizational excellence as a dependent variable. Implications of the study are also illustrated.
