Captivating the Impingement of Social Capital on Academic Success and The Mental Health of School Going Children (Gen Z) In A Pandemic World

Abstract

Family and community, in addition to school as a social capital provider, play a significant
role in the creation of human capital, ie; school going children. This research, in line with
this, surveys social capital’s effects on the academic success of school going children. The
present study has applied cross sectional research design and collected data using a selfadministered and structured questionnaire. The survey was conducted among 530 Gen Z
category students. Data analysis includes Cronbach's Alpha, descriptive statistics, Principal
Component analysis, Pearson's correlation coefficient, H-Test, one-way
ANOVA,Kolmogorov-Smirnova, and Shapiro-Wilk test of normality. The result reveals that
social capital assures students’ academic success and can be beneficial for parents, educators
and community leaders by improving existing strategies and plans for better educational
success
