The Impact Of Islamic Work Ethics On Environmental Performance : Mediating Effect Of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour For The Environment

Abstract

The research aimed at finding out the relationship between islamic work ethics,   organizational citizenship behaviour for the environment (OCBE) and environmental performance. The population of the study were micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) owners in the food sector engaged in the cracker, chips, peyek and the like industry which are spread in West Sumatra, Indonesia. The data were 400 respondents, but only 331 were useable response. It is found that islamic work ethics and OCBE have significant impacts on the environmental performance. OCBE is not mediating variable on this relationship. Thus, this study gives some contribution to MSMEs food sector especially on management environment.
