IoT Based Safe Assembly Point Indicator System for Smart Buildings and Campuses

Abstract

Safe assembly points (SAP) play a vital role in the evacuation procedure during emergencies or natural disasters. The identification of SAP is a difficult task as it should consider a large number of factors. It is important that the identified safe assembly points are known by the people who access those premises. This article proposes an architecture that uses fire detection and shakes detection as the main actuators. In addition to the detection of fire accidents or earthquakes, the proposed approach also guides the people to the nearest SAP immediately.
