Abstract

Carbon dioxide emission from combustion of fossil fuels has been the main cause for global climate change. This leads to an urgent need for reduction of its emission. This has enormous research efforts in developing novel technologies and, absorbents for carbon capture and storage.  A semiconducting device with gate materials as nano structured pores can be developed to absorb carbon from the source of emission. The electrical characteristics of the device could be analyzed and can be inferred for other applications. As a first step, single hollow cylinder is modeled for study that can be further extended to a cluster of random pores. In this work, Modeling of a nano hollow cylinder using finite element method is done and its electrical characteristics are studied. It is observed that for a fluid gas flow, pressure and voltage variation is uniform throughout the surface.
