Abstract

The power Produced from the PV is non-linear in nature and its power production is mainly depending on Climatic
conditions. So the PV produce the maximum power at one point, called Maximum power point. There are many
MPPT algorithms are proposed to track the maximum power from the PV .In that P&O based mppt algorithm is
widely used in many applications. The behavior of this mppt algorithm is determined by the parameter considered
for the Perturbation .Conventionally the voltage, Current and duty cycle are considered for the perturbation with
their corresponding incremental values. Hence the incremental values with the control parameter determine the
oscillation in mppt algorithm. In order to analyze the oscillation around the MPP (maximum power point) ,This
paper is aimed to study the effects of incremental values applied to the Conventional Perturb and observe based
mppt algorithm. The simulation study for the P&O based MPPT algorithm is carried out in Matlab-simulink and this
study compares the variation in Voltage, current and power with respect to the variation in Incremental values with
varying climatic conditions.
