Abstract

In this proposed work, utilizing the stir casting route, the fabrication of Al-B3/fly ash/SiC reinforced composites are done via the method of vortex. Today in thermal power plants, most of the industrial wastes available are the Fly ashes and here, this paper is intended to investigate the aluminium-B3 alloy’s mechanical behaviour thereby evaluating its reinforced microstructure of silicon carbide (SiC) and fly ash along with the weight of reinforced composites varying in percentages from 0-10 wt. are being prepared with the 3m sized particles. Thereafter, the characteristics of the ready composites are described through the scanning electron microscope (SEM), a tensile testing machine, and an optical microscope.

The presence and the distribution of the SiC and fly ash particles are observed through microstructural study and from the study it has been seen that they are uniformly distributed throughout the matrix. Whereas to improve the hardness and the properties of the tensile, fly ash particles and SiC particles will be used through the strengthening mechanisms for like ultimate tensile and yield strengths.
