Abstract

India had the third highest number of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases globally. The Indian state of Uttar Pradesh reported 247,145 cases and 3,641 deaths on May 15, and ?30% cases were from the state capital, India. The number of COVID-19 cases has been increasing in Uttar Pradesh since May. Serologic surveys can provide a comprehensive picture of community spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), the causative agent of COVID-19. During the second week of April, the unweighted seroprevalence in Uttar Pradesh was 2%. We conducted a community based serosurvey in May 2021, to estimate the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV-2 in Uttar Pradesh.
