Abstract

In reactive AOMDV protocol, during route discovery process, all nodes in MANET forward RREQ to all other neighbor nodes (one hop) until it reaches destination node. In this a node receives multiple copies of same RREQ from different neighbor node and this leads to routing overhead. To minimize this routing overload and to increase throughput by reducing packet loss we propose Enhanced Local Multicast AOMDV protocol (ELM-AOMDV).We select dominant set of nodes from MANET for route discovery and communication purpose. The nodes having sufficient energy level, less traffic and noiseless channel contributes these dominant set. Moreover, only minimum numbers of nodes from these dominant set nodes are selected to make efficient transmission without congestion and routing overhead. The energy level threshold and inter queue space threshold are determined based on the QoS parameter of current transmission. A node is selected based on this parameter to avoid link failure and packet loss during transmission.
