Mechanical Properties of Epoxy/ SiO2 Nano Particles Reinforced With 5 Layers of CSM E-Glass Fibers Composites
Abstract
In this paper, the silica ( SiO2) nanoparticles were applied to the Neat epoxy, reinforced with five layers of E-glass fibers (CSM) chopped strand sheet ."The Hand lay-up" way was applied to equip the composites with a diverse percentage of weight (0.5, 1 and 2 percent wt Separation of SiO2 nanoparticles in the interlayer of epoxy resin / glass fiber has been tested with X-ray iffraction.. Mechanical properties of the equipped Nano composites were examined as Tensile ,bending ,hardness, impact testing. The test result showed an enhancement in the mechanical characterization of the mixture which show increase in the strength when subjected to tensile, bending, hardness and the best result when the adding of SiO2 at the same quantity (1%wt. ). Electron microscopy scanning (SEM), investigated the morphology and microstructure of composite nanoparticles and fiberglass surfaces , Elementary study with the detector for energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy ( EDS); the chemical sets were examined using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy ( FTIR)
