SWOT analysis of exporting fruits and vegetables from Yunnan Province to Thailand under the Belt and Road Initiative

Abstract

International trade has developed rapidly under the Belt and Road Initiative, based on the research of international trade and logistics. This study analyzes the international trade of fruits and vegetables between China and Thailand, focusing primarily on the export of temperate fruits and vegetables from Yunnan Province in China, to the Thai market. Data are collected from the major exporters of fruits and vegetables in Yunnan Province by in-depth interviews and analyzed by the bibliographic database. SWOT analysis method is used to analyze the current Strength, Weakness, Opportunities, and Threats of exported fruits and vegetables from Yunnan Province to Thailand. This study aims to discover opportunities for the export of fruits and vegetables from Yunnan Province to Thailand. Finally, suggestions are given for the improvement of Yunnan Province’s export of fruits and vegetables to Thailand.
