Abstract

Many reinforced concrete buildings in metropolitan regions lying in dynamic seismic zones, may
undergo moderate to severe compensation during ground motions. This was important to research, the actual
quake examination of model with shear wall during earthquake in order to forecast the distribution of forces
and deformations. Current research objective to investigate the usefulness of reinforced concrete shear wall
in the buildings which are prone to seismic loads. The shear wall is an alternate structural form for resisting
the earthquake forces. In this study, G+10 building seismic analysis is carried out by inserting shear wall &
without inserting shear wall by applying response spectrum procedure according to IS: 1893.The
examination is completed through ETABS. It is accomplished that, insertion of shear wall in model
decreases % reinforcement in columns and increases the horizontal toughness of model, thus performing
efficiently by withstanding horizontal forces induced by an earthquake.
