Abstract

Human are a special part of the society and are very conscious about the society. Both the literature
and society, are mirrors to each other. Indian culture and society is the co-site of many castes and Dalit is the
one of them. The dalit was earlier called the ‘shudra’, ‘anarya’, ‘asprishya’, ‘acchut and ‘harijan’. Dalits have
been insulted, exploited in indian society for centuries. Once upon a time like that touchings dalits by the upper
caste was considered a sin in society. As a curse of fate and destiny, the dalit was always suppressed by the
upper caste society into a lower position. The dalits were forced to stay in their status quo. In the religion and
karma of the Dalits, service of other classes is considered to be the main. Due to the varnashram system, the
Dalits were separated from other castes of the society and a person born in a Dalit society is considered
untouchable. They were also banned from the educational system. Humanity, talent and knowledge were
blurred in front of the caste system and untouchability. The castiest system remains intact in the society for
centuries until today also. Hindi dalit female autobiographies highlighted various social problems of dalits.
