Abstract

Airfoil is a streamlined body, when placed in a fluid flow exhibits aerodynamic characteristics. In
the present study, aerodynamic characteristics such as lift, drag, velocity magnitude and pressure distribution
around the surface of NACA 0015 airfoil are determined by both experimental and simulation analysis.
Experimental analysis was conducted at a velocity of 31 m/s for different angles of attack. For simulation
analysis CFD- Fluent, k –epsilon turbulence model were used. Further, experimental results were compared
with the simulation analysis. Coefficient of lift and pressure distribution from simulation showed good
similarities with the experimental results.
