Abstract

Nanomaterials CaO and TiO2 have been synthesesed and mixed with ZrO2 with the molar
ratio of 1:1:1 to prepare the biomaterial ZrTiCaO5 .It has been prepared by solid state reaction
after sintering process at 1000oC for 2h.The structure of the raw materials and compound were
examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and compared with ICDD data base .The surface
topograghy and shape of the samples have been observed at magnification of 30x,50x,70x and
100x by using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. The mechanical properties of
sample was tested such as the Vickers hardness (Hv), elastic modulus(E),yield strength(Y) and
compression strength (?) . For biocompatibility we have examin the sample ZrTiCaO5 by
immersion test in simulated body fluid (SBF) for (30) days where the results of Energy Dispersive
X-Ray Spectroscopy (EDX) and SEM images and XRD showed that the elements of apatite
appeared as layer formed on the sample surface after immersion in SBF .
