The development of Electronic Government Example Jordan

Abstract

The technological transition in the 21st century made it possible for producing better
information systems to go with nowadays flow. As most applications are moving towards online
systems, there has been a great development to shift governmental functions and processes into
one system with easier access for citizens. The concept of E-government, Electronic
Government, promotes the use of information systems in government strategies and systems. It
also provides better coordination and organization among the public and private sectors. This
paper reviews the e-government concept and focuses on the implementation of E-government in
Jordan by showing the way for economic growth and social development. Furthermore, this
paper analyzes the challenges and risk factors affected by the development of E-government and
giving remedies to overcome those consequences.
