THE ROLE OF CREATIVE SELF EFFICACY AS MEDIATING ON ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATIVE WORK BEHAVIOR

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of entrepreneurial leadership on improving
innovative work behavior of employees in SMEs and to explore the mediating role of creativity self-efficacy in
the relationship between entrepreneurial leadership and employees’ innovative work behavior. The sample was
selected from the SMEs active in Denpasar. Utilizing the simple random sampling method, a sample of 100
CEOs and managers of SMEs was selected to participate in this study, and they were asked to complete the
questionnaire (from each SME, one CEO or manager filled the questionnaire). Structural equation modeling
(SEM) using the partial least squares (PLS) method was applied to test the hypothesized relationships between
the study variables. The results in this study that the entrepreneurial leadership hypothesis has a positive and
significant effect on creative self-efficacy. The entrepreneurial leadership hypothesis has a positive and
significant effect on innovative work behavior. Creative self-efficacy hypothesis has a positive and significant
effect on innovative work behavior. Creative self-efficacy mediates the relationship of Entrepreneurial
Leadership in a positive and significant way to Innovative Work Behavior.
