Influence of vacuum preloading on surrounding soil ground and structures
Abstract
Combined with a project analysis, the numerical modeling method was used to
simulate the influence of vacuum preloading on the surrounding soil ground and
structures. The results show that vacuum preloading has little effect on the soil ground
when the soil ground is reinforced by vacuum preloading method. When the adjacent
soil ground is reinforced by the cement mixing piles or the steel pipe piles, the soil
ground will have large uneven settlement, which will affect the safety of the upper
structures. The calculation results are consistent with the on-site observation, which can
provide experience and references for the application of vacuum preloading method to
reinforce soft soil ground.
