An Overview of Health Care System in India With Special Reference to Assam

Abstract

This paper tries to attempt an overview of the existing health care system, health
care services, health infrastructure of India and its challenges and failure so that it helps us to
know the scenario and problems of the system at all. In the initial stage, the paper starts to
draw on the planning and policies of the Indian government regarding the development of
health for the population followed by the broad concept of the health care system, health
infrastructure of rural India. Finally, this chapter ends with the challenges and failure of
public health care service and the impact of this failure upon the people's health-seeking
behaviour
