Abstract

Usage of Digital Image processing for radiographs and X-rays is the methodology and standard practice adopted by Dentists and clinicians. Digital radiography has been widely used in dental treatments since last 30 to 40 years and its usage by clinicians is progressively growing. Digital capturing and clicking of radiographs empower sophisticated machine-built image post-processing to enrich image class and upsurge the accurateness of understanding using sophisticated software tools. Here we present an overview about digital image processing for dentistry related problems and a new methodology to fix the cavities and length of RCT as well as severity using X-ray image. This tactic comprises of order of the events which are pre-processing technique by means of contrast elongating method, separation technique using active shape model and other techniques to invent the zone of root canal & diminishing process to discover midline of the root canal zone and severity of cavities.
