Abstract

Creswell's Mixed Methods (2009) research aims to find the learning model of SN3S (sangu, niteni, nirokke, nambahi, saripati) which is applied to chemistry learning in high school, starting with the Among Ki Hajar Dewantara System. This study uses a Mixed Methods Sequential exploratory design which consists of two stages: qualitative followed by quantitative (Creswell, 2009). Researchers consider using the Mixed Methods Sequential exploratory design on the basis of: Creswell & Plano Clark (2007) explains sequential exploration strategies are often discussed as an optional procedure when a researcher needs to develop an instrument because the existing instruments are inadequate or unavailable. According to Creswell (2009) the sequence of instrument development in the Sequential Exploratory design: In the first phase (qualitative) specific themes and statements about the SN3S model were obtained from the subjects in the initial qualitative data collection, then used as specific items and themes for the scale to complement survey instruments and models SN3S based on the views of the subjects. In the second (quantitative) phase, the application of (I) the SN3S model of learning instruments about the Solubility material begins with a demonstration in front of the class by students followed by reflection (I). The results of the application reflection (I) for the application (II) of the Solubility material with video aids, followed by reflection (II). The results of the reflection of the application ((I) for the application of (III) the material of Acid-Base Theory with video aids, followed by reflection (III) The results of the reflection of the application (III) to provide recommendations to the model teacher implementing Thermochemical learning with SN3S models. , to validate the instrument with subjects from the chemistry teacher at SMAN 9 Malang, through structured interviews assisted with free advice sheets, input on the chemical learning model of SN3S, also used at the same time to check the accuracy of the findings in this study. The SN3S learning model is an addition to the Among Ki Hajar Dewantara System. The SN3S model consists of five phases: The first phase is Sangu (provision). The second phase is niteni / observing carefully .. The third phase of SN3S is nirokke / imitating. The fourth phase is adding / completing. The fifth phase of SN3S is essence / essence.
