Abstract

This paper introduces a modernistic method of controlling three phase AC/DC converter by
employing sliding mode controller and fuzzy tuned PI controller for building applications. The
implementation of PI controller and sliding mode controller has been analogized. Controller
performance has been analyzed and it is found that it possesses minimum fluctuation in system
parameters and minimizes the total harmonic distortion for 3-phase grid voltage. This new model
sliding mode controller based DC-DC converter has quick response in the steady state and it gives
wide range of output voltage when compared to PI controller in buck and boost mode of operations.
