An Empirical Study on Role of Micro Finance scheme and Self-Help Groups in Krishnagiri District

Abstract

In today’s digital world there are huge number of self-help groups are ready to do business to create employment opportunity for others. In order to uplift self-help groups (SHGs) the government has developed lot of schemes through micro finance banks. This will help to alleviate poverty to utilize and self -reliant with good employment opportunities. The micro finance has playing the vital role among self-help groups to improve their living conditions. Here people may mutually share their problems and with team spirit they will find a new ways to generate finance with the help of government schemes. The main objective of the paper is to find out what are micro finance schemes, challenges for self-help groups, strategies to overcome challenges and critically evaluate the role of micro finance. This study is conducted among 150 members of self-help groups located in krishnagiri district. The data collection method can be both primary and secondary. The SPSS statistical tool can be used to analyse data. The researcher used descriptive type of research to find out better results.
