Abstract

We examined and treated 48 children with bronchial asthma at the age from 5 to 14 years. We also examined 15 children without allergic diseases for the control group.

The analysis of the general group revealed a normal distribution of 25-hydroxycalciferol in the population in the range of 5.28-53.54 ng / ml with average values ??of 25.589.73 ng / ml In children with asthma in the general group, without dividing by the severity of the disease, the concentration of vitamin D averaged 24.76  ng / ml; in the control group 29.3710.32 ng / ml without significant differences between the groups (t = -1.69, p = 0.1). It would be interesting to know that, in all groups, the mean value of vitamin D refers to deficiency (20-30 ng / ml) despite the population of older children receiving a varied diet
