Abstract

To analyze the movement of human locomotion, pneumatic assistive device is utilized. The gait scrutiny in this system is to assist clinicians to have better interpretation about the patients who underwent a treatment of knee pain, bone joint pain etc. Two essential elements are required to perform the activities like detection and manipulation. In this proposed methodology, detection was made through accelerometer which acts as a sensing part and it senses each and every movements and vibrations. Manipulation was made via Digital signal processor. Both were integrated in a smart clutch which is lightweight and reliable. The accelerometer monitor the information needed for the clinicians to provide a clear prediction and it enables to observe the angle between foot strike and toe-off and the overall operation is manipulated using digital microprocessor. Two striking benefits of this designed approach are, processing time is minimized because of the usage of digital microprocessor as it uses 40 MHZ to process it and to perform classification, Artificial neural network is utilized to analogize between trained and test set data. It gives the information between normal and abnormal gait. It assists clinicians to provide better treatment accordingly and it generates result in high astuteness.
