Educational Adjustment and its Co-relation with Social Adjustment, Health Adjustment and Home adjustment: a Study on B.Ed students of District Institute of Education and Training(DIET) in Lakhimpur District of Assam

Abstract

Higher education in today's competitive world comes with its own challenges for the students such as competition for higher marks, for getting good jobs after completion of education , fear of facing failures etc. It becomes stressful at times.This study is concerned with the educational adjustment of B.Edstudents and its relationship with social adjustment, health adjustment and home adjustment of the students, the extent and direction of the relationship. This can be helpful in understanding educational adjustment and  gain a better view of it from the perspective of other aspects of adjustment and the results of this study may help in solving educational adjustment problems in the students. A sample  of 50 B.Ed  students are taken using the disproportionate stratified random sampling technique for the study  and their adjustment levels was checked with a standardized adjustment inventory. The results were computed using Pearson’s product moment correlation coefficient. Results indicated that there was low positive correlation between educational and social adjustment, and there was moderate positive correlation between educational and health adjustment, and substantial positive co-relation between educational and home adjustment.
