Abstract

The growing power quality problems of electrical power are providing an importance for the effective operation of renewable energy sources. On the other hand, continuing power quality to fulfilment of service is also a needed condition. In this paper, the strategy features of a Unified Power Quality Conditioner (UPQC) integrated with Photo Voltaic (PV) based Embedded Generation (EG). The UPQC shows a vital role in the constrained transfer of electrical power from a source to remote group of load or from a source to the grid. This paper proposes novel controller methods for both shunt and series inverter. The proposed control system for shunt and series converters is established on Fuzzy Logic control based Tuned Artificial Neural Network (FLC-NN) controller. The proposed methodology reduces the total harmonic distortions (THD) competently, and mitigates sag, swell conditions existing in the linear and nonlinear loads in PV based Embedded Generation system.
