Abstract

Recently a variety of switched capacitor Multilevel Inverter (SCMLI) has emerged which is suited for various applications. Compact switched capacitor multilevel Inverter (CSCMLI) is one among those recently introduced topologies with minimum number of switches. This manuscript introduces a modified version of CSCMLI with significant component reduction and with minimum blocking voltage across the devices. The proposed topology generates nine voltage levels on symmetric configuration, and it is able to generate eleven voltage levels at asymmetric configuration. For improving the output voltage quality, Multicarrier Phase disposition Pulse Width Modulation (MPDPWM)and closer level control techniques are employed. The operation and performance of proposed topologies are confirmed using simulation outcomes.
