Abstract

A boost converter with high gain is presented in this paper which is implemented after a PV module to get the increased regulated voltage that is sufficient for the application. So an MPPT method with switched inductor/capacitor technique is used for the high gain boost converter. An increased step up voltage ratio is accomplished with switched inductor/capacitor. One added advantage of this converter is that it recycles the leaked energy of the switched inductor to the load which makes more efficient. An LCL filter is connected in series after the switched inductor capacitor circuit to filter out the ripples in DC output voltage and current. The maximum power from the PV segment is derived by changing the boost converter duty ratio. By using MATLAB/SIMULINK the PV module, boost converter and the MPPT control are modeled using sim-power system blocks.
