Abstract

Adjustable speed induction motor drive system consisting of a diode bridge rectifier and a single stage boost
inverter with lesser number of electrolytic capacitors has been proposed. The system has no shoot through
situation and is enhanced by the shoot through control technique. By using electrolytic capacitor-less utilized
topology, the life of the system is considerably patched up. By legitimate determination of the tapping point of
the inductor, this system obtains the augmented lift reversal pick up and can ride through system voltage.
Single stage boost inverter fed induction motor drive is simulated in MATLAB-Simulink. The speed of the drive
is controlled in both open loop and closed loop. Closed loop system employs the PID controller and gives the
faster steady state output. By controlling the PWM pulses applied to the inverter, speed of the drive is here
controlled
