Modified PFC Converter with Reduced Pressure on Energy Devices for BLDC Motor Drive
The project discusses a modified dual output PFC converter for brushless BLDC drive. Here, for wide range of SC
and to achieve PF correction at AC mains, the modified converter is proposed. The converter’s switching rate is set
at 20 kHz. The converter is operated in DCM that decreases the output inductor’s size. Less switch voltage pressure
permits using a MOSFET with lesser RDS-on. The suggested configuration is operated in transmission mode
(discontinuous) to reach a unity PF and less THD.
