Investigation on growth and characterization of urea doped barium nitrate crystals
Urea doped barium nitrate crystals were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. For comparison purpose, undoped barium nitrate crystals were also grown by solution method. The functional groups of grown crystals were found by FTIR analysis. The unit cell parameters of the sample were obtained by single crystal XRD studies. EDAX analysis was carried out to identify the constituent elements present in the as-grown urea doped barium nitrate crystal. Microhardness studies were performed for both undoped and urea doped barium nitrate crystals to understand the mechanical behaviour. Dielectric and LDT studies were also carried out to find the electrical and laser damage properties.
