Abstract

The main aim of this paper is to present the idea of providing continuous and uninterrupted supply of electric power to
load, using different sources. The concept uses Mains, Solar, Generator and inverter as sources to supply the load.
One source will provide power to the load at a time. As power cuts are not being tolerated in the current senerio, a
arrangement like this becomes of huge importance to achieve a 24 hours continuous power supply. All the sources are
controlled using switches, four switches are used and pressing of a particular switch means the absence or cut off the
particular source from the circuit. Switches are connected to Arduino board as input signals. The output of Arduino is
given to a relay driver circuit, which switches appropriate relay for having a uniform and continuous flow of current to
the load. The arrangement is equipped with an LCD display which displays which relay is being used at the instant.
Using four different sources is not possible economically, so one source with four switches is provided to get same
function. The paper and the whole ideology can be further enhanced by using Microcontroller, GSM technology and
many other renewable sources of power. Further measures can be taken to reduce the overall cost of the functioning
prototype.
