Abstract

Digital media has influenced various aspects of modern life and has had a profound effect on inter-personal communication. This day is characterized by a lack of time for individuals and families as spouses need to be hired to meet the needs of a satisfying lifestyle. Time has become the most valuable resource, and people will find ways to save time because of their fast paced lifestyle. People need interaction to meet their social needs and with the proliferation of digital and mobile technologies social media has become the preferred medium for communication. Digitization minimizes the face-to-face interaction of humans to market or promote a product or for personal communication. The mobile phone has created a social situation through which people stay away from person-to-person communication by switching to mobile. The current lifestyle and lack of time has made the use of mobile and other communication aids more useful for social relationships. It shows the digital media usage intentions of Thai youth and more aware of for what purpose they are using digital technology in their daily life. Youth are emphasizing that digital media platforms would be more useful to improve speaking and writing skills if they use it for in a proper manner.
