Position Optimization of Wave Energy Converters by using IPOP-CMA-ES Algorithm
Abstract
This research study's objective is to present a novel WEC array optimization approach for investigating systems-level issues, particularly WEC layout and device spacing. To increase total power generation, a genetic algorithm approach based on Covariance Matrix Adaptation Evolution Strategy and an analytical hydrodynamic model was applied. The objective of the research work was achieved and the power take off produced after running the optimization algorithm is increased by 8.75 %.
