Abstract

It is known that when breeding olives, issues of overwintering occupy an important place. Young
plantings of olives are particularly strongly affected by winter adverse conditions, reacting heavily and
quickly to these influences. Olive plants have the ability to harden at low temperatures. Olive hardening
proceeds in two phases, usually from the second half of November and, depending on the temperature
condition, lasts until January. Other things being equal, the age of the leaves also affects the degree of frost
resistance of the plants: annual leaves of the olive turned out to be more stable than the old ones.
Also, the article deals with the materials of some physiological and biochemical parameters of olives (Olea
europaea L.) and peritoneum (Ligustrum) in dry subtropics of Uzbekistan.
