Abstract

Considering the significant changes in road safety, but millions of people are still killed or injured as a result of traffic accidents, in addition to the huge amount of economic damage caused by these accidents. However, traffic safety remains one of the most important issues in the world and affects anyone using the road network system, whether you are driving, walking, cycling or pushing a pram. Some of the most important aspects that promises more improvement in terms of road safety is linked to vulnerable populations (special population populations) that could have greater potential for accident involvement. The public safety needs of unsafe individuals differ from one another and from the general population. Because of the differences between and among the general population of these particular groups, not all issues can be resolved - while improving the value of other safety concerns at the same time. This paper explores a method used to classify the most important traffic safety issues among five dangerous groups, including younger drivers, older drivers and women, the disabled and school-age children. The specific criteria used to identify critical problems, because common standards are not sufficient. Highway safety professionals were surveyed to obtain a large arrangement between risky groups and then to determine the final order between problems by adding weight to each of the parameters.
