Place Attachment and Organizational Citizenship Behaviour Dynamism : A Critical Review

Abstract

—Most research conducted on citizenship behaviors in organization focus on the various aspects of
Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) with respect to factors influencing OCB vis-a-vis the outcomes
that results from displaying such behavior across organizations. The paper reviews on various literatures on
place attachment as a significant variable in predicting Organizational Citizenship Behavior and attempts to
identify the gaps and scope for future research. The individual characteristics extensively impacts
Organizational Citizenship behavior (OCB). However, the literatures with respect to dynamism of
workplace attachment on OCB is the crux of the present study. Based on the analysis of different
researchers, Organizational Citizenship Behavior has different dimensions to understand the framework of
the construct with respect to workplace attachment.
