Abstract

Performance of joint venture financial institutions seems better in Nepal. But the literatures have contradicting views on the results of ownership and organizational outcome and performance. So, the researcher interest has drawn towards this issue. This study basically followed the model developed by Greenwood and Empson (2003).This study followed the correlational research design. All 27 commercial banks, 1 finance company and 25 insurance companies were considered as population. 20 financial institutions and 407 respondents were used for the study. Respondents were chosen purposively. Data were collected developing five point Likert Scale questionnaire. Questionnaire were administered personally and on reference basis. Chi square test is used to assess the goodness of fit and multiple regression model were used to examine the effect of ownership type on organizational outcome.

Study finding suggests that ownership type differs the outcome of the organization in the Nepalese financial institutions. It may be so because various facilities and concessions were provided to the joint ventures organizations by the government of Nepal through Foreign Investment and Technology Transfer Act, 2019.
