Abstract

In the year 2016, spear phishing has caused a significant amount of capital loss in the US. Mitigation had been done on spear phishing but existing spear phishing mobile mitigation still had a lack of detection and prediction module, no response of mitigation and limited channel for the system to check for malicious URL. This project proposed to use context-aware parameters such as timestamp, location, user identification, and others to improve the detection and prediction module, integrate alert module to a user as the response of mitigation and QR code as a new channel for malicious URL checking. Spear phishing uses personalized content which often related to the environmental context and thus the implementation of context-awareness in SPDefense is suggested. It is expected that the integration of context-awareness will further improve the detection and prediction module. The aim of the project is a tool that able to detect, predict and respond to spear phishing attack for mobile.
