Abstract

We are influenced by the connectivity of Internet and also connect to the outside world with the help of global position system (GPS), we may also use it to identify the position of an individual in a fully connected area or in locations where network is not available. So in order to  estimate  the location  of a critical location which may suffers from poor position estimation, accuracy in indoor environment which can be in a mining area, hospital, industry, shopping mall and areas where internet is not available we require an alternative to GPS. This work demonstrates an efficient local positioning mechanism where the Global position system (GPS) is not available in such locations. The whole local positioning system works on the basis of Receiver Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) value of the user nodes which makes use of its own Wi-Fi network to locate the user under such unpleasant situation which he may not wish to be. This work also demonstrates the location identification of the unknown position for single cases of single channel node position and multiple node position and by the help of the estimated position Trilateration we could identify the location of the user but when we test for multiple node positions the error or delay is more in comparison.
