The Identification of Postgraduate Students Mental Health in terms of Gender, Age, and Education Level

Abstract

Mental health topic often becomes a concern on campus. Even though higher institutions have
provided a health unit to cover mental health, its patients and reasons of accessing this service have not yet
been thoroughly discovered. Therefore, this study aimed to identify the mental health problem of Postgraduate
students of Semarang State University using demographic factors, including gender, age, and education level.
It was done using online survey and cross-sectional methods to 745 respondents consisting of Postgraduate
students of Semarang State University. The findings showed that generally the mental health of Semarang
State University Postgraduate students were good. However, in terms of level, MANOVA analysis revealed
that the master degree students experienced lower level of mental health than the doctoral students.
