The economic impact of Covid-19 Pandemic on the Southeast Asian Region

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has wreaked destruction worldwide. Due to Coronavirus, there is a
serious crisis in the whole world. Meanwhile, many global institutions are also anticipating a huge decline in
the economy. It is believed that due to Coronavirus, the world's business is being adversely affected. The
Southeast Asian region has also been impacted by this. From the beginning, the outbreak of Novel Corona
Virus Disease or Covid-19 in Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province of China, given its geographical proximity
and high travel flow between the region and China, poses a major threat to Southeast Asia. The economic
system of the region will decline strongly. Economic activities in the Southeast Asian region are at a
stoppage, the banking sectors and economies are under pressure and business is down. This region will hurt
the main hindrance due to Covid-19. This paper mainly focuses on the economic impact of the Covid-19
pandemic in the Southeast Asian Region.
