Web-Based Document Management System: A Management Tool for an Educational Institution

Abstract

Document Management Systems (DMS) plays an important role in different organizations today.
This paper presents an application of DMS in an educational institution. This system specifically aims to
mobilize the recording, retrieving, tracking and efficient record distribution in an electronic manner. Unified
Process model was used to develop the system. All these phases are done sequentially, in which a project
milestone had been achieved upon the completion of a phase and was used as an input for the succeeding
phase. The average result for the User Acceptance Test (UAT) is 4.27 that is above than the target average.
Based from the UAT results, the Office is satisfied and accepted the implementation of the system
