Design and performance analysis of skeleton dense EPSC asphalt mixture

Abstract

The skeleton dense gradation was taken as the research object, referring to the French
GB5 asphalt mixture gradation design method, the EPSC-10 and EPSC-13 with
limestone were improved and designed. The properties of EPSC-10 and EPSC-13
were evaluated and compared with SMA-10 and SMA-13 with basalt, which are often
used in China. Finally, according to the self-developed image recognition software,
the direct contact relationship of asphalt mixture skeleton was quantified. The test
results showed that the high and low temperature performance and water stability of
EPSC asphalt mixture were good, especially when the structure formed skeleton
support function, high temperature stability and comprehensive road performance
were excellent
