Abstract

The growth in the number of motor vehicle ownership in the world is getting higher, as is the case in Indonesia. One type of motorized vehicle whose ownership rate is quite high is a car. With the high number of motor vehicle ownership, the number of road accidents is also high. Based on the “Kapolrantas Polri” statistics, in the first quarter 2018 there were 24935 road accidents. Therefore, a system is needed where the vehicle can provide information about driving conditions for the driver, especially the beginner driver, because beginner drivers are not yet sensitive to the conditions and situations that exist on the highway. Even though there are already cars that have a security system, not all cars have these features, especially older cars. By making the system use the concept of a wireless network system, not only can the car provide information on the distance of cars using sound, this concept makes the system easy used in every type of car. This car navigation system is made by utilizing Wi-Fi and microcontroller technology based on ESP8266, the concept of wireless sensor networks for each sensor node will send distance data from the car to the surrounding objects to the main part to turn on the voice alert wirelessly. Therefore, this system is very suitable for use by beginner drivers and is easy to install on all types of cars.
